When global drift superstar Adam LZ teamed up with Guy Maxwell, the result was always going to be something special. The Adam LZ x The Choice Files Hardpark, powered by Link ECU, brought a unique slice of international car culture to the South Island — transforming Christchurch into a hub for some of the best builds and enthusiasts in the country.
Held at Link ECU’s headquarters in Avonhead, Christchurch, the Hardpark event gave fans a rare opportunity to get up close with some truly iconic machines and meet the personalities who helped shape modern online car culture.

A Global Name Meets the NZ Scene
For many fans, the biggest draw was seeing Adam LZ in person. Known worldwide for his drifting career, YouTube channel, and massive automotive following, LZ has become one of the most recognisable figures in modern car culture.
The Christchurch Hardpark marked a special moment, as it was the first time Adam LZ visited the South Island, drawing enthusiasts from across the region to be part of the experience.
Alongside him was Guy Maxwell of The Choice Files, whose builds and storytelling have earned a strong following in New Zealand’s automotive community. The event showcased his well-known C33 Laurel, a car that has become a staple in local drift and show circles.

Iconic Cars on Display
The Hardpark format focused less on competition and more on celebrating the machines themselves. A curated selection of high-quality builds filled the venue, ranging from street cars and drift machines to high-end show builds.
One of the standout attractions was Adam LZ’s legendary 4-rotor Supra, a car that has become a global icon thanks to its extreme rotary setup and unmistakable sound. Seeing the car in person was a highlight for many fans, giving them a chance to appreciate the engineering and detail behind one of the internet’s most famous builds.

With carefully selected cars, creators, photographers, and enthusiasts all in one place, the Hardpark delivered a premium, curated automotive experience rather than a typical car meet.
Powered by Link ECU
Backing the event was Christchurch-based engine management company Link ECU — a global leader in motorsport electronics and performance tuning. Their involvement helped bring the event to life while reinforcing New Zealand’s place in the international performance scene.

Hosting the Hardpark at Link ECU’s headquarters added another layer to the event, giving attendees the chance to connect directly with the brand behind many of the world’s most powerful drift and race cars.
More Than a Car Meet
Beyond the cars, the Hardpark created a festival-like atmosphere. Fans could grab merchandise, take photos with the featured builds, and meet the creators who have helped shape modern automotive media.
VIP meet-and-greet sessions gave enthusiasts the chance to chat with Adam LZ, grab photos and autographs, and connect with the personalities behind the builds that inspire millions online.

A Moment for South Island Car Culture
Events like this highlight how strong New Zealand’s car community has become. By bringing together international names and local talent, the Adam LZ x The Choice Files Hardpark showcased the passion, creativity, and craftsmanship that define the scene.
For those who attended, it wasn’t just about seeing famous cars — it was about being part of a moment where global car culture met the heart of the South Island automotive community.
