The Toyota Crown Royal Saloon, one of the few cars that you never see on our roads. This one is far from its original height and is very well known in a few local crews around the North Island.
This Crown is owned by the man behind Lowcally Known, James is a massive car enthusiast and an awesome guy in general. He wanted to take us for a drive and show us a few tricks to the trade. Lowcally Known is a group of great people and no person is the same. They feature a range of different cars from rare to old JDM, all the way to new euros with no gaps in between. We love hanging out with these guys, so if you ever run into them, just say hi.
We started the afternoon off after a few brews by cruising down to one of the local car washes, he told us, “there’s no point taking any photos if she isn’t clean”. He started off as all good car washes go, by covering it in water and soap. He told us there is no tricks to cleaning cars, you just have to do the man work: scrub hard, get in all the gaps and she shine like new!
The G Thing, the full class name for the car is Crown Royal Saloon G Spec, they originally came with a 5MGEU 2.8L twin cam.
James was sure to leave no section of the car untouched and spent a good 10 minute’s just covering it in soap. I tried to arrange him to do our crew car next but he wasn’t too keen.
Sitting on 15×8.5 Centerlines and not very far off the ground.
Cruising round we found this awesome yard, parked up and started snapping away.
Keeping it ROYAL, there’s so many extras to this car its almost impossible to see it all.
